Pizza with a view of the Colosseum

Ristorante Pizzeria Volare is at Via di San Giovanni in Laterano 48, 300 metres from the Colosseum, and you can see the amphitheatre from our outdoor tables. We are open every day, from 12:00 to 23:00, so pizza is served at lunch and at dinner.

The classics

The Margherita (tomato, mozzarella and basil, €9) is where it all starts. Then the Napoli with anchovies and the Funghi with mushrooms (€10), the Diavola with salami (€12), the Capricciosa with ham, mushrooms, egg, olives and artichokes (€14) and the Quattro formaggi, four cheeses (€13).

Special pizzas

For something different: the Romana with mozzarella and black truffle mortadella (€20) and our house pizza, the Volare, with buffalo mozzarella and black truffle (€26). Fresher options are the Primavera with rocket and cherry tomatoes (€12), Prosciutto e rucola with ham and rocket (€13) and Bresaola, rocket and parmesan (€15).

Vegetarian pizzas

Vegetarian choices include the Margherita, Funghi, Primavera, the Ortolana with vegetables (€12) and the Quattro formaggi.

Not just pizza

If someone at the table would rather have pasta, the full menu also has carbonara, cacio e pepe, lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, and grilled meat and fish. For an outdoor table in the evening, it is best to book.

Come try it

The best way to understand our philosophy is to sit at our table.
